Sam the Hot Shot Driver had hauled some equipment to the drilling location and by the time they got him unloaded, it was nearly dark.
He knew there was a good chance he would get stopped if his trailer lights weren’t working, so he decided to check them out before starting for home.
Just as he got to his pickup and trailer, he spotted Leroy, one of the new rig hands, headed for the rig.
Sam yelled, “Hey Leroy, give me a hand.”
Leroy walked over and Sam asked him to stand behind the trailer and let him know if the lights were working.
“Are the tail lights working?” asked Sam.
“Yeah”, said Leroy.
“How about the brake lights?” asked Sam.
“They’re working”, said Leroy.
“OK, here goes the left turn signal. Is it working?” asked Sam.
Leroy answered, “Yes… No… Yes… No…Yes...No....Yes.....No.”

The Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Industry has historically been a very cyclical industry that fatigues even the best of equipment and personnel. If we as an industry do not invest in health, education and welfare programs,
we will lose our most valuable assets...... our hard working people.
Oilfield Appreciation Days support Oilfield Worker Health, Education and Welfare efforts, locally and abroad..
Our Mission:
Oilfield Appreciation Days are held through-out the year in areas with high concentrations of oilfield families. These events will serve as fundraisers that will in turn be used to benefit a variety of health, education and welfare programs and charities that stay in direct contact with oilfield workers and their families
